Documenting a Day - Word Processor

This is a word processor excerpt for the Documenting a Day project. Check out the capstone post, where I talk about the overall results.

The task was to journal a day in my life, making sure to take advantage of word processor text-forming abilities like different fonts, font sizes, text alignment, and bulleted lists.

Thursday, June, 15th, 2023

I woke up to the 7:00 a.m. alarm and snoozed it. I spend the 5-minute snook checking my phone; watching a couple YouTube shorts. After the alarm sounded again, I got up and got dressed. Then I went and woke up my kid and her dad. Once she’s dressed and fed, they left at 7:45 to take her to school; third to last day for her. I spent the next hour working on my final essay draft and packing my dinner and work laptop. At 8:45 I got into my car and set up podcasts to listen to for my hour drive to work.

Then spent 10 hours at work. Lunch was a gyro bar provided by the company. I don't think the gyros are very good, but beggars can't be choosers. I reheated the leftovers I brought for dinner around 5 or 6 pm. My tasks today were fairly simple

  • Work old low-priority tickets.
  • Work new high-priority tickets as they come in.
  • Attend really boring training meeting.
  • Slightly less boring project meeting was canceled.

On the plus side, I got to hang out with Smith at work since it was a Thursday, our overlapping office day. At 8:00 p.m. I set up the next group of podcasts to listen to on the hour drive home I also stopped about halfway to get my weekly gas tank. Gas is a whole $0.50 more expensive than the week before. I got home in time to say good night to my kid and put her to bed. My husband and I spent half an hour watching the next episode on our TV show before I myself went to bed. With tomorrow being Friday, I look forward to staying home to work, saving myself the 2 hours of driving.
